Thank you for your interest, unfortunately Volunteer Applications are no longer available for DEFCON Furs 2025.
Without you, DEFCON Furs would not be. We depend on you. Your donations of time, service, and/or funds to make our events happen. On behalf of all of us who make up the DEFCON Furs community, we would like to offer our deepest thanks and hope to see you at the next DEFCON Furs!

DEFCON Furs 2025 Volunteer Terms and Conditions
Everyone volunteering for Hack Your Lives & DEFCON Furs events is subject to the terms and conditions in our general Code of Conduct, host hotels and accommodation policies, Federal/State/Local laws, and the conditions below.
Drugs and Alcohol
All volunteers must adhere to the following zero-tolerance policies regarding drugs and alcohol while on duty or when present at any of our events or our event spaces:
- Volunteers are prohibited from the possession and/or consumption of any illegal substance while on shift.
- Volunteers are requested to refrain from working as a volunteer while under the influence of controlled substances.
Behavior and Conduct
Event attendees look to our volunteers as representatives of DEFCON Furs. While on duty or when present at any of our events or our event spaces, volunteers are required to follow the following policies:
- Volunteers are free to socialize with others, provided that said socializing does not include inappropriate language or behavior, or affect the performance of their duties in any way.
Appearance
Volunteers must be helpful, courteous, respectable, and easily identifiable. As a result, volunteers are required to follow the following policies:
- Volunteers must wear the provided Animal Control staff shirt only when on duty. Please do not wear your Animal Control shirt off duty. If you are wearing one of our shirts we can and will put you to work.
- Volunteers must wear the provided Volunteer badge blank or Attendee assembled badge (if purchased) when on duty.
- Volunteers must not wear any head coverings while on duty without Defcon Furs approval. This includes but is not limited to fursuit heads, pup hoods, and masks.
- Volunteers must practice good hygiene, manners, and be rated PG13.
